MSc (Econ) Sample Class on 18 November

MSc (Econ) held a sample class titled "Risk Sharing and Commercial Banking" on 18 November 2021.

In the sample class, Prof. Tao Zhu, Academic Director of MSc (Econ) program and Associate Professor of Economics, gave prospective students a flavour of courses offered by MSc (Econ) program. Around 150 participants joined the event.

Prof. Zhu started with explaining the standard commercial banking business model, and a potential problem of asset transformation resulted from mismatching between terms of liability and asset of the bank. He then put the notion of risk sharing to formal economic analysis.

During the Q & A session, Prof. Zhu addressed questions be raised by participants regarding admission, internship etc.
